In response to many requests for more retro-pixel graphics needed by game makers, Tyler Warren has completely remastered his monster collection in this the 1st of 3 pixel-style graphic packs. This pack is a careful assortment of 93 of Tyler’s battlers recreated in a pixel art style, presented in 9 different color palettes and 4 sizes, for an impressive total of 3,348 graphic image files in one pack. If you’re working on your retro or pixel game these are the monsters you need!
This pack contains:
- 93 of Tyler Warren’s monster battlers recreated pixel-style in 9 color palettes and 4 zoom sizes (2,976 image files)
- Provided color palettes can help you select the overall look for your game
- Color palettes include: GameBoy (4 color), NYX8 (8 color), AAP 64 (64 color), NES (55 color), DB-ISO (22 color), Matriax (128 color), TimeFantasy (120 color), TimeFantasy (192 color)
- Files are provided in 4 zoom sizes, from 1X to 4X

Hi, I'm excited to potentially use these in an actual NES games; do the NES-palette versions honor NES hardware limitations in any way? (limited number of colors used at a time based on the NES's sprite and background palettes)

That's actually a really good idea, but I did not think of that when I was creating them. They simply match the available NES palette.
Hello, are the battle backgrounds included? If not, anything you'd recommend to fit these battlers?
Good question. The backgrounds are from other creators. The preview images actually use RPg Maker MV RTP backgrounds that were "pixel-ized" using a program called "pixatool" which is available on itch. there are a handful of background creators out there (I love Tokiwa Graphics backgrounds) and if you use consistent palette and pixel-ization rate it matches really well. I should probably build a little tutorial...
I would be very much interested in such tutorial! Also, I see Tokiwa's are only for RPG Maker so would you recommend someone else's? Thanks for your time!
Ah, yes they are RM only. depending what you're looking for you can modify any battlebacks basically the same way. I've used some of Joel's backgrounds in different projects as well https://joelsteudler.itch.io/overworld-battlebacks Looking through the RM storefront battlebacks is definitely a thin offering and some are RM only. Maybe I need to make some of my own :)
Tyler, hope all is well. I recently purchased ALL the pixel battlers, as well as some other sets. I was wondering if there was a way to acquire the faces for these monsters (Using a HUD which requires them) without buying all the rest of the individual packs. I bought your time fantasy ones and they are great by the way! If Patreons have access to this, I will gladly subscribe. (Edit: I decided to purchase the missing sets, it seemed there weren't that many I was missing, they were all on sale, and I want to support my artist!)
Celestrium, thanks so much for the support! You make a great point about facesets. When I originally built the pixel-style packs I was thinking of them as a catch up for those who already had the original base packs, not realizing some might skip those and grab the pixel ones only. Since then, I began incorporating the "pixel-style" into the base packs themselves, so that people would have every option in a single pack purchase going forward (7th 50 and 8th 50 are built this way). It will take quite a bit of work to make "pixel-style" matching facesets for the pixel-style packs, but I'm adding it to my to-do list, because you're right that is missing.
I was hoping for some quick clarification--I think I read on the RPG site that these also came in side view, is that right?
Some are side view and some are front view. Some could be used either way. Hope that helps.
